I LOVE the intensity of the red house, the blue door, the blue sky. the colors are so drenched it doesn't look real, but like a painting.

Hayden,

The intensity is due also to the sun rising behind my house. The view shown here is due west and it was early morning so the light was fantastic. Didn't even have to tweek the colours in my software. Ah nature, real colours are alwasy the best!

Kathy,

Maybe not as grand as California but Manchester does it for me. Only pity is that there's no trees on my street but hey, can't have everything.

Wow, I've rarely seen that shade of red on houses here in the states. Striking against the blue sky.

I agree with Hayden...looks like a painting....but not one done by Lowry!

Darius,

Red seems a popular colour for painting terraced houses in the UK. Indeed my house is also painted red. Not sure where this tradition came from, or why people don't paint their terraces different colours. Hmmm, maybe you've given me an idea.

Rob,

And there's no matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs either. Thank fuck.

Clare,

The houses are made bright by the sun rising over my house in the morning. And how come you've never noticed them, possibly because you only ever leave my house, a) when you're drunk; b) when it's dark.
