how wonderful! but what are the drifts of lavendar? are they crocus'? don't quite look like it but they're packed so tightly I can't make it out.

Hayden,

They're drifts of cherry blossom petals. I'm going through a cherry blossom phase at the moment and so is nature!

Nice picture - Something like, "Abundant Nature" might be the title.

wow...... the ground is literally covered with them.... how wonderful! We get falls of white cherry blossoms that speckle the grass like snow, but I've never seen so many fallen petals. Lovely.

Darius,

Those petals were certainly in abundance, and I caught them at the end the 'fall'. At the height of the petal fall it's like being in a pink blizzard, they fall like snow or confetti, and really beautifully. Ahh, spring, truly my favourite season.

Hayden,

A few photos back, when I first got my camera, there's pics of cherry blossom in Crowcroft Park. The trees become heavy with flowers and look like bursts of pink and white candyfloss. Puffs of colour and it's lovely. So when the petals fall they do so in great drifts. Wonderful, really wonderful.

Kathy,

It's just a shame they appear only once a year, however, always worth the wait. Glad you liked the Haiku. Took me an hour to write...
